Welcome to the Biddulph Male Voice Choir website.
The choir is celebrating 97 years this year. It was
formed in 1922 by local brothers Ed & Tom Roberts. From its inception the choir has had a
reputation for choral excellence and has raised thousands of pounds for
charities both at home and abroad.
The choir’s Music Director is
Anthony Marks who is assisted by experienced principal accompanist Wendy Brown
who is a relative of the original founder members of the choir.
In competition the choir has gained prizes at such prestigious competitions as Llangollen International Eisteddfod, and contests at Blackpool, Nelson, Freckleton, Morecambe, Bourneville and Derby. In recent years however the choir has concentrated on concert work, undertaking a full programme of concerts at venues ranging from small chapels to 1500 seat halls and the choir has regularly appeared at the Shrewsbury and Southport Flower Shows. In addition the choir has toured Norway, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Holland, the Irish Republic and much of the UK.
